Epi-LASIK or E-LASIK
A very advanced surface ablation procedure creating a flap only of the clear skin on the surface of the cornea, the epithelium. This procedure is very specialized and used in complex cases where a normal corneal flap is contraindicated or not desired, or in cases where the available corneal bed for ablation is being maximized in those patients whose cornea is too thin for other LASIK procedures.
