Keratoconus treatment has advanced so much that we believe that a virtual keratoconus cure is now possible. Although even Google searches say there is no cure for keratoconus, this is simply ignoring the advances in procedures documented in peer-reviewed publications.
What Are The Ways To Treat Keratoconus?

A recent study peer-reviewed published study by Dr. Motwani performing corneal laser reconstructive keratoconus surgery with trans-epithelial topography guided ablation utilizing the CREATE Protocol had virtually all eyes (96%) at 20/30 or better.

A cure is defined as elimination of disease. The body may still be changed after the elimination, but the disease no longer threatens it. For a keratoconus cure, the cornea is restored to a more normal shape with laser reconstruction. The cornea is still different than a normal person, but in the central visual area it functions closely or virtually exactly like a normal cornea restoring vision, increasing clarity, increasing resolution, and decreasing multiple images and night vision issues. Our patients often forget they ever had keratoconus in their day to day lives, and we believe that most people would agree that this is a keratoconus cure.

This newly reshaped cornea is “frozen” into place with corneal cross linking, for a virtually permanent repair to the cornea. The cornea stops progression from keratoconus as is well documented with corneal cross linking in keratoconus and corneal ectasia, and stays in the new normalized shape indefinitely.
We believe such a procedure is a keratoconus cure, and is a keratoconus cure for a high percentage of eyes as patients are able to work, drive, and enjoy their eyes just as a patient without keratoconus would without the constant worry of losing their vision from keratoconus.
Not only have we published multiple papers on this subject, but we have also created dozens of videos with patient interviews, explaining the procedure, explaining choices for keratoconus treatment, keratoconus surgery, and keratoconus corneal cross linking.
