Epi Cell Removal For Prior RK Repair

Epi-cell removal, also known as epithelial cell removal, is a process used primarily in the field of vision correction, and is a specialized eye procedure used primarily to treat complications following some laser eye procedures, where surface cells grow under the corneal flap, causing vision issues. This is commonly used to help smoothen out the cornea.

This patient previously had Radial Keratotomy years ago which can be seen in the incisions on the cornea once part of epithelium is removed. We run the laser again on the cornea to allow for the cornea to regrow it’s epithelium to a better and rounder shape.
