Join us inside the operating room as we perform cataract/refractive surgery on a patient with a history of prior RK (Radial Keratotomy). These cases present unique challenges due to previous corneal incisions and altered corneal biomechanics. In this video, we performed the surgical planning, intraoperative techniques, and key considerations for achieving the best possible visual outcome in post-RK eyes such as utilizing step one of our CREATE Protocol. This educational content is intended for ophthalmologists, surgeons, trainees, and anyone interested in advanced eye surgery. RK was a refractive procedure commonly used before modern laser vision correction and can create special considerations during later eye surgeries.
