PRK Enhancement with Alcohol and Swab Epithelium Removal

For some PRK enhancements, the best way to reach the cornea enough to provide a correction is to apply a tool that circles around the cornea and allows alcohol to remove tissue when applied with a cotton swab. Although rare, this process is commonly used for enhancements for people who do not have enough tissue for LASIK but enough for PRK treatment. This treatment is also often common with our older patients who have received LASIK or PRK years prior but need a touch up.
