PRK is a surgery often done when LASIK surgery is not viable to the cornea. PRK can be done for people who have less tissue in the cornea, not enough to create a flap in the eye that is often attributed to LASIK. PRK is more common than not in older patients who have had their tissue degrade over time. Although different from LASIK, it is just as effective and essentially create the same result.
