Problems with Intacs include risks of eye infection, visual disturbances like glare, halos, night vision problems, and fluctuating vision, as well as more serious complications such as extrusion (segments migrating or coming out), perforation, corneal haze, or neovascularization. While most issues are temporary and can be managed or reversed, some may require removal of the segments.
A service we seek to provide is intac removal or even repair on those eyes who have had experience with intacs prior. Although it is not entirely common, it is still something that we see in our practice.
